The Nurse Practitioner takes exceptional care of people by providing and coordinating health care to specific patient populations using the nursing process, and practicing within the guidelines of a formal collaborative arrangement with physician(s) in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care.

The Nurse Practitioner may act as the clinical educator working with staff on annual competencies, new procedures, and advanced practice skills. This position will also provide care for patients in areas of the hospital as assigned. This includes, but is not limited to, the age of the patient served.

Qualifications

- Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or Anticipated Graduate in 12 months or less
- Current RN Licensure in Missouri or Illinois (as determined by the location of the position)
- Nurse Practitioner certificate from applicable certifying body
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure or ability to obtain within 90 days of graduation or Temporary Permit in Missouri or Illinois (as determined by the location of the position)
- Collaborative Practice agreement with a collaborating/supervising physician or designee upon hire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or ability to obtain prior to direct patient contact
- Basic Computer/Keyboarding Skills
- Must be able to sit, stand, and/or move about for 75% of a shift
